The Blob (And Other Creepy Sounds) not only offers Ralph Carmichael's complete score as it appears in the movie, but includes the unused main title music (which was replaced, in the final release cut of the movie, by "The Blob" by the Five Blobs -- which is also included here); the latter is marvelously effective, and ought to have been salvaged in some form at the time, but it is great to finally hear it 10/

It is unfortunate that Carmichael's Main Title titled "Violence" (track 2, ) was not used because it nicely sets up the mood of the film. Instead there was the silly but very catchy song as recorded by "The Five Blobs." As David Schecter explains, this song was actually sung by one singer, Bernie Nee, and multi-tracked to sound like five singers.
